Culture Clash

Actually, more like a ballet brawl.

Gene Kim's animation thesis Fighting Spirits puts a new, tech spin on the battling Odette and Odile from Swan Lake.

Maybe if we had more cyborg ballerinas, more young people would come to watch the ballet.

Well, we can always dream.

On a side note, I'm sure nothing of this sort will happen tonight at the Stars of Philippine Ballet gala.

I'll keep you posted.

  1. Haha! I'm sorry, but I never knew we had a ballet, what, troupe here in the Philippines. Haha! I don't know why I find that amusing, but I am.

    1. Well, Momel, there are three prominent ballet companies in this country. We have Ballet Philippines, which is the resident ballet company of the CCP. Then there's the Philippine Ballet Theater (PBT), which is also a CCP resident company.

And then there's Lisa Macuja's Ballet Manila, which, unlike the other two companies, relies not on subsidies from the CCP but on private sponsorships.
